Microsatellite Motifs
GIS begins each microsatellite library project by enriching for four different motifs in parallel. The motifs are selected by the customer and typically include

at least one dinucleotide and two or three tri- and tetranucleotide motifs (e.g., CA-, AAT-, ATG-, TAGA-). GIS guarantees that at least two of these four libraries

will be enriched to 50% or greater, and contain at least 8500 recombinant cells or there is no charge whatsoever. Typically, more than two of the enrichments

are successful and sometimes all four libraries are enriched to that level or greater depending on the species and motifs selected.

GIS customers receive all libraries that show evidence of enrichment which also include sequence electropherograms that confirm the success of the

enrichment, corresponding text files, and instructions on how to recover additional microsatellites. GIS also designs primers for all microsatellite containing

sequences. All of these features are included in the cost of each microsatellite library order.
